Check out the Mandatory Assignments of this semester here. Enjoy!
The theme of this assignment is HTML, CSS and screen based design, and the task was to design an online menu for an eatery. The menu had to be presented as a web page with coded using HTML and CSS, and it should work on various screen platforms from desktop to mobile phones. As part of the assignment brief, the eatery wants to invest more in catering and takeaways, and as they have observed that their costumers use their website frequently, adding an online menu to their site will be beneficial. They want the menu to be well designed and appealing, and the emphasis should be on idea, typography, aesthetics and style. We could choose between a pizza or a sushi menu, and after some back and forth I landed on doing the pizza menu. To see the full website, just click the linked image above!
The main focus of this Mandatory assignment was information design and design for screen. The theme of the task was to build a website for several biking routes in Bergen. We have been encouraged to put emphasis on cycling being an environmental, economic and healthy alternative to a car, and that more and more people are using bikes to get around the city.
The website should present four different cycling routes; Landaas, Fana, Fyllingsdalen and Laksevaag, and each route needed to include certain information about the route, and the website needed to be interactive.
Additionally, we needed to design an A3 poster which is consistent with the website. You can see the poster design on the image above, and to see the full website, just click the poster image!
The main theme of this assignment is photography - studio shooting to be more specific. The assignment concists of two parts; one is to do an advertisement for a radio station and the other is to shoot studio pictures of one or more people. As for the first part, there is a new Internet Radio station who need an advertisement. The ad will be used on various public transport platforms as well as on the Internet platform on Spotify - therefore we need to do one version for online use and another one for print, due to different size. We had the oppurtunity to choose between 3 radio channels of different genres, and I chose "Music: Independent "up and coming" artists operating in the genres; electronica and indie".
You can see my finished online version of the poster in the image above. To view the studio photographies and other versions of the poster, just check out the slideshow below.
This assignment has provided us with knowledge about branding, packaging, presentation of a product, concept development, planning and executing an efficient work process, language of form, composition and color and product photography. During this project period of four weeks, we have been handed out tasks one by one each week in order for us to focus and give each step of the design process the necessary attention. In short, the assignment was about branding, packaging and presentation of a dog food product.
In the first week, we developed a name for our product, and then designed a suiting logo. Week two was about creating an illustrated infographic and a brochure for our product. The thirs step was to design a package for our product, and then make a life size mock up and photograph it. The finishing touches of the last week was to design a point-of-sale for our product, photograph the element and make a brand manual, collecting all our products from the project period.
In the image above I have presented my final logo design, and to see the rest of the design products, just have a look at the slideshow below, and if you keep scrolling you will find a PDF to the full brand manual.
